A new way to sort RSS feeds

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

I doubt this is new, but I just thought of it just now, so it’s new to me! I’m taking advantage of the Google Reader feature to group my RSS/Atom feeds by tagging them. This concept in itself isn’t new, but what I thought of was to take the feeds of certain tags from other [...]

Just a General Update – Camarillo (Part 2)

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

Last Monday (12/18/2006) was spent driving down the opposite direction of the 101. I went down to Camarillo to meet with Dr. Bill Wolfe, head of computer science at CSU Channel Islands. He asked me some questions to get a feel of my background and my direction. I indicated I am planning on taking Calculus [...]

Operator: A Firefox Plugin Bringing Functionality to Microformats

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

As previously mentioned I would do a review of the brand new Firefox plugin “Operator” by Michael Kaply. Instead, I felt this article at the Mozilla Labs Blog did a better job than I ever could at describing the functionality of Operator. There are a few highlights I would still like to cover though. First [...]

Just a General Update – SHDH14 (Part 1)

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

So I’m pretty sure I’m done with my transition from godaddy to Bluehost. I just need to wait for the DNS changes for nickpeters.net to propagate across the internets. Anyways, GoDaddy was slow, didn’t allow SSH access, and just not cutting it for me in terms of features, thus the switch. So here’s a recap [...]

Hopefully today I’ll be switching from GoDaddy to Bluehost. This means I might have some downtime! So, if my site/feeds are down, I’ll be back up shortly.

Social xFolk

How funny…

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

During the summer of this year (2006), the computer services staff thought it would be “fun” to set up all of the dead hard drives we had and use them as dominoes. The event was recorded by yours truly and uploaded to youtube by Joel. When on digg this morning, I found this article. Anyways, [...]

A New Twist: An Update on my Life

Monday, December 11th, 2006

I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad thing quite yet. Today I received more information regarding the ongoing turbulence that is applying for Cal State Channel Islands. Apparently a lot of the classes that I need to take for the BS in Information Technology are online classes. This means I have a lot [...]

Practical Usage of Microformats

Sunday, December 3rd, 2006

My last post was not only an announcement of Taxi Driver playing at The Fremont here in SLO, but also an experiment. I generated the HTML for my post with the hCalendar Microformat creator. Once I created my post and viewed it, a greasemonkey script kicked in and I was able to automatically add it [...]
